The Ankh was the symbol of new life in ancient Egypt and was even referred to as the Key to Life. It was believed to convey the power of the gods to unlock the door to immortality. In this context, it means life force, understanding and emotional love rather than being a symbol of sexual promiscuity, which is the meaning that modern society has tried to assign to it.
Instead, its true meaning is a type of life force that is all about universal love and a balanced existence. If you selected this card to represent the way you can improve your ability to connect to the Divine, then it is talking about enthusiasm and a desire to live life doing the things you love with the people you love.
If Ankh turns up as a way you can connect to the Divine, then what you you need to do is exactly this – spend time more doing things that you love. With people you love. So, work out who and what those things are. What lights you up? What and who do you love? What will make you happiest?
And… love yourself. This is the card of love, you are worthy of infinite love, especially from yourself.
Self love is important here. Appreciate yourself, and all of the people who love you (the ones that love you properly, not in a ‘whats in it for me’ kind of way). Find more lust for life. Understand yourself through this repeated work. It will never be finished and when it is, you will be done. Accept that there are chapters of your life that will close, and that this is a new one that is opening.
So… just love yourself, the way that you should be loved. Treat yourself the way that you would treat someone YOU love. Be compassionate with yourself, and try to practise compassion with everyone – even the ones you don’t want to. And acknowledge your life force – it is strong and it’s able to get you what you want.
